About the Client :

The National Institute of Communication Technologies (INTECO), promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, is a platform for the development of the Knowledge Society through projects in the area of innovation and technology.

INTECO has two objectives: to contribute towards the convergence of the Spanish and European Information Society and to promote regional development, establishing a project with a global approach in León (SPAIN).

INTECO develops, among other things, initiatives of technological security, accessibility and inclusion in the digital society and communications solutions for companies and individuals.

Project Description :

Corporate Website development under XCM (Xeridia Content Manager) system, with a high content volume, in six different languages, and a high number of users. This Web includes powerful search engines that allow to find any Web information, from published files (PDF, Word, PPT, etc.), or from HTML contents, and to index XCM contents and other Inteco Websites contents. Inteco Website includes several tools as well, to provide web portal users with advanced services.

A Web Services set has been developed as well to integrate contents from different Inteco systems with this Website.

From security view, XCM offers SSO (Single Sign-On) services, allows user access with electronic ID card and it has a secure user area to access to different services and utilities.

Challenges :

Main challenge of INTECO Website development was to create a corporate site which could be escalated, as the number of contents, administrators and users was growing. Other important requirements from INTECO's nature itself, were security and accessibility. Either Inteco website and the content manager itself, have been deeply checked to make sure they get to the required level of accessibility and security.
